Nutrition and Supplements
We offer advice on a wide range of nutritional products. We believe that each individual dog has specific nutritional requirements. A Jack Russell and a Mastiff are streets apart in size, temperament, genetic/hereditary diseases and weaknesses. Thus their nutritional needs will be very different and we can’t expect them to eat the same food.
The correct nutrition can play a large part in keeping them fit and healthy and can be based on size alone or you can consider specific breed nutrition. We can also offer advice on foods for specific health requirements
Dogs with joint problems such as DJD/osteoarthritis/OCD Special diets for weight loss and long term management Foods for dogs with sensitive digestion and allergies Foods for dogs that find it hard to gain condition
Generally speaking if your dog is on a good quality diet designed for its breed/type/size, supplements will not be necessary. However, there are some conditions that we treat at Meadow Farm that can benefit from some extra supplementation. These are mainly conditions of the musculo-skeletal system. We can advise on and supply the best and most cost effective supplements that may be of benefit. eadow farm 2008
Weight Clinics
As with humans, animals too can have weight management issues. Excess weight can hamper most of the conditions that we treat at Meadow Farm. Loss of weight/condition can also be an issue for some animals. We offer a weight management clinic for all animals that attend for therapy. We also give you the support that is needed to maintain your dogs at their optimum condition.
Daily Excersise Programmes
Often after surgery or injury dogs need to be restricted in their excercise or completely rested. As they recover it's often hard to know how to start and then continue with excercise back to full fitness.
We are able to give you structured programmes for your individual animal's condition; along with their treatments this will help them on the road to recovery.
Many dogs find the restricted phase hard to mentally cope with. Hydrotherapy can often help to give them a sense of well-being and allow them to move freely again without the risk of further injury.
We also offer advice for performance animals, competition/agility dogs working trial and gundogs, this includes;
Fitness programmes to bring your dog into peak fitness for the beginning of the competition and working season, hydrotherapy is of particular benefit here.
